The customer had to find an economical way to remove contaminants from the surface of the finished parts. The part is used in a critical medical oxygen environment. The customer was also looking to remove loose burrs, while improving the cosmetic appearance of the parts.


Originally specifying passivation, the customer found that the additional deburring and cleaning operations ran finishing costs beyond budget. The customer submitted samples to Able and found that electropolishing performed all three operations in one step.

Note to engineer: We have formulated chemical blends that allow processing of all the stainless steels. Additionally, we have our own baths that process steel, aluminum, and literally dozens of other more exotic alloys. As a result, we are able to achieve significant results on a host of machined and other complex components/assemblies.
