Bezel
This stainless instrument bezel had a light burr on the inside and outside edge. Electropolishing greatly reduced the burr and cleaned the part in one operation. This was done without distortion or warping that would occur with vibra finishing or hand polishing.

Cover
This very heavy gauge stainless part needed to be clean and smooth. Normal mass finishing would have impinged or scratched the surfaces. Electropolishing uniformly treated surfaces inside and out, including the tough inside bend near the top.

Weldment
This stainless wire assembly had significant weld discoloration that would corrode and fail under severe salt spray testing. Electropolishing removed sub-surface contamination around the entire weld area without compromising weld integrity. In most salt spray testing, electropolishing performs 30 times better than passivation.

Spring
These return springs are made of stainless steel. Electropolishing removed surface scale and discoloration, exposing the true base metal. Metal was removed uniformly on all the complex surfaces.

Spacer
Made from brass, this small part shows how electropolishing can smooth and clean this difficult alloy. Ra values are normally improved by 50%. While the native brass surface resists tarnish, we recommend a protective coating in applications requiring a tarnish free appearance.

Spline
Made from carbon steel, this small splined shaft has a cross-hole drilled at one end. A complex part to finish by any normal mechanical methods, it was well suited for Electropolishing, Surface metal was removed from all the splines at the same time, exposing the true base metal. When performed properly, electropolishing will work equally well on a wide range of carbon and tool steels both soft and after hardening.

Reflector Shell
This aluminum part has been partially electropolished to show surface improvement. Formed from 1100 aluminum, surface oxides were removed and the part was left totally clean. Unlike most mechanical finishing methods, electropolishing does not bend or distort the soft aluminum component.

Ring
This copper ring offers an excellent example of the cleaning properties of electropolishing. By removing surface metal from the entire surface simultaneously, oxidation, absorbed chemical and imbedded contamination were removed with minimal dimension change. We electropolish a wide range of copper components for sensitive electronics semiconductor and aerospace/defense assemblies.
