We are ISO 9001:2000 certified. We completed the program in just over 7 months, a process that normally takes 2 years. Additionally, we are a certified vendor for dozens of manufacturing companies in industries from Aerospace to Medical and Semiconductor.
The outdoor tanks, located on the south side of our plant, are used for bulk storage of proprietary electropolishing and waste water chemicals. These tanks meet all city regulatory codes including spill containment areas surrounding the tanks.

Brite® Passivation: Our proprietary Brite® Passivation process was designed for customers who are looking for a superior process to passivation. This light electropolishing process gives your part some brightness as well as leaving the surface free of contamination. Passivation:An acid cleaning process designed to remove free iron from the surface of corrosion resistant steels. ABLE passivates per the ASTM A967 specification, as well as many other industry and customer-specific standards.
Contract cleaning: Able provides contract cleaning services on metal parts from vapor degreasing to complex customer specific cleaning specifications. Titanium Electropolishing and Color Anodizing: deburr, passivate, and improve surface finish on your parts while providing easy identification through color coding.
Advanced Computerized Operations
We process over 20,000 orders annually, with nearly 500 new parts per month from over 2500 customers worldwide. Controlling our expanded facility is an intricate and totally updated computer system that manages our estimating system, parts processing, accounting, inventory shipping and billing systems. Our base systems receive upgrades regularly to keep us on that leading edge.
We are proud to offer the metal finishing industries most sophisticated process control system. Our Electronic Engineering Card (EEC) has the largest databank of electropolishing procedures and process instructions that instantly gives our 150 employees over three shifts access to process data. This system allows unparalleled consistency in quality, so your order is processed right the first time.
Unmatched Staff Experience
Your orders are supported by a team of eight order entry and expediting staff. Their sole objective is to rush orders in and out of our facility. Over 50% of our employees have been with us for 10 years or more. That depth of experience means your orders will be processed faster and more accurately than any other electropolisher.
Our field technical sales team has the research, tools, and data to educate your staff on the process, solve technical issues quickly, and support your engineering team in solving metal surface problems. We offer technical seminars on the process nationwide, with thousands of engineers benefiting from our programs.
We have 17 production lines operating 24 hours. Those process lines are tuned for large and small parts in a broad range of alloys. Our rack-making department is open 24 hours as well, maintaining a rack inventory up to 10 times as large as other electropolishers. That depth of capacity means orders large and small are processed and shipped quickly.

A Commitment to the Environment
In response to the regulations inherent in the US Clean Water Act, Able made a large investment to insure that its new facility would be in compliance with the stringent environmental guidelines now being enforced by federal, state and local regulatory agencies. This investment means we're ready to serve our customers today and in the future.
Inside the plant, the waste treatment equipment occupies approximately 4,500 square feet. Our propriety environmental waste management system separated the waste from the unique mixture of base metals used in the alloying of material that is electropolished. Able's treatment of this mixture includes chemical reduction, waste stream blending, coagulation, flocculation, pH adjustment, settling microfiltration, ion exchange and dewatering. The result: total separation of the water from the waste material. At that point, the waste material is dried, formed into compact "cakes", and collected in a special bin for disposal.
Over the years, Able has been through the evolution of environmental compliance, waste minimization, recycling and water conservation. This outstanding job has earned Able a Certificate of Commendation from the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.
